Slyne see off Eagley on penalties to reach round two
Problems with their Bottomdale Road home meant Ian Roe’s West Lancashire Premier Division side were invited to play their first round tie with Eagley at the home of the Dolly Blues.
They were made to work for victory too after Danny Dickson had seemingly sent them through with a goal on 65 minutes.

Hide AdBut Eagley player-manager Simon Whaley, once of Preston North End fame, sent the game into a shoot-out thanks to his equaliser two minutes from full-time.
It was Slyne who prevailed, ultimately keeping their nerve to win 6-5 on penalties.
The sides are set to meet again this Saturday at Eagley in league action.
Garstang’s game at Southport Hesketh was called off with the Riversiders set to play their Richardson Cup first round tie at home to Blackpool Wren Rovers this weekend.
